AstroWeek 2 – Abbott Mount, Champawat (8 – 11 November 2024)
The second edition of AstroWeek built upon the excitement of the first, turning the quiet slopes of Abbott Mount, Champawat into a living classroom of stars, stories, and science. ASTROWEEK 2 was a hybrid event combining astro, bird, and nature photography and public panels giving birth to new event concept Feathers and Horizons for the avid interest in Bird, Nature and Landscape Photography
From 8 to 11 November 2024, the meadows once again came alive with telescopes, tripods, and the shared curiosity of sky-watchers from across India.
This year, we welcomed participants from six states—including Kerala, Telangana, and Karnataka—alongside many returning faces from the inaugural edition. 32 astro-enthusiasts and bird nature landscape photographers gathered under some of the clearest Himalayan skies to capture deep-sky frames, practice astrophotography, and exchange stories that connected myth with modern astronomy.
Through hands-on workshops on mobile & DSLR astrophotography, telescope sessions, landscape & nature photography, and cultural storytelling, AstroWeek 2 highlighted how science and heritage continue to coexist beautifully in Uttarakhand’s highlands. Evenings around the bonfire echoed with laughter, music, and reflections on constellations above and friendships below.
The journey may have ended, but the memories will keep glowing—each photograph, each shared discovery, a reminder that the cosmos truly belongs to everyone. We thank every participant, mentor, and supporter who made this edition unforgettable.
Stay tuned as we prepare for AstroWeek 3 – where new horizons await and the night sky calls once more.
