About Us

The Birth of AstroWeek

The stars have guided travelers, farmers, and storytellers for millennia.  AstroWeek was born from this legacy. After months of deliberations during the last COVID lockdown, AstroWeek began in April 2023 as a bold new idea: to reconnect people with the night sky and to explore new destinations through astronomy, culture, and tourism. With each edition, it opens doors for locals, nurtures a community of enthusiasts, and puts new landscapes on the map of astro observation and dark-sky tourism.

First held in 2023 at Abbott Mount, Champawat, as Champawat Districts first structured astro-tourism pilot. It proved that a new lesser known region could be the stage for a new form of learning and leisure, combining astronomy, folklore, and environment.

Why It Exists

Today, over 80% of people live under light-polluted skies. AstroWeek exists to reclaim the night — to remind us that the cosmos belongs to everyone, not just scientists. It creates meaningful connections between people and the heavens above.

Heritage Meets Science

Imagine learning the story of the Saptarishi Mandal as you capture its trail on your camera. AstroWeek unites Vedic astronomy with modern tools like telescopes, VR sky simulations, and mobile astrophotography — making cosmic exploration immersive, participatory, and unforgettable.
